Jon Bailey, a successful Advertising Executive, recently completed renovating his Craftsman style home in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego. In July 2014, Bailey’s home was featured in San Diego Magazine. According to the article, “Urban Sanctuary,” Bailey has transformed his family’s former one-story bungalow into a tropical urban sanctuary with luscious greenery, a cement Buddha statue, and a vegetable garden. The interior décor is made up of a variety of custom furniture pieces and mementos from various world travels.
In the dining room, Bailey has created an indoor/outdoor space with French doors and custom chairs to ensure the backyard view is visible from the adjacent living room. Three pendant lights were installed above the dining table and were inspired by lighting in a downtown San Diego restaurant. The golden lighting elements help create a smooth transition of color from the kitchen. Urban Lighting’s Tim Jackson sourced the lighting for the renovation.
